Dumb Questions?

1. How the hell do you turn off the maintenance required light in an RS? Just so you all dont think I'm ignorant. Yes, My maintenance is up to date(according to my manual). My Haynes(yes, not a helms!) manual says there is a button to press under the steering column. But, I'm not finding any button.

2. What triggers this light to come on, Mileage??

Yes, mileage causes the light to come on. If you plan on doing some serious work on your car you should get the Helm's manual.

Here's how to reset the maintenanc light on a '94+ GSR or TypeR: Find button located under dash located on right-hand side. Turn on ignition and press and hold button until "maintentance" light stops blinking. This will reset condition.

There is a black box that looks like a small garage door opener just above the base of the dashboard to the right of the steering column... you may have to get your head down by the gas pedal to see it (and use a flashlight - it will help). It has a square button on the front of it... do as stated above... turn on the ignition and press and hold the button until the maintainence light goes out. You are done.

I actually got it turned off today while I was driving to work. The previous owner had Installed, god knows what, under the steering column. I'm assuming it was an after market alarm. Any way there is a wiring harness mounted right over the button.

I was sitting at a light today, and that little yellow light was irritating the shit out of me. So I started playing under the stearing column, and presto, there it was.

I just pressed the button with the car running and it went away.
